Linking together projects already started.

With over eight million ticket holders expected to visit Los Angeles we see the need to create a multi-modal, pedestrianized urban trail connecting key venues, cultural attractions and urban cores of Los Angeles. The Festival Trail links projects already underdevelopment, creating a multi-modal transit network that enriches the street life and culture of LA.

If we change our streets, we change our city.

RAIL TO RAIL CONNECTOR

The Rail to Rail Connector envisions an enriched bikeway and streetscape linking the LAX People Mover to the Vermont BRT. Along the route, it connects key cultural destinations—from the Inglewood Transit Corridor, SoFi Stadium, and Destination Crenshaw to USC’s Galen Center and the Coliseum—creating a continuous corridor of mobility, culture, and community.

PARKLETS & REST STOPS

A series of parklets and shared rest stops punctuate the protected bikeways, creating moments to pause, gather, and connect. These spaces support informal economies and local businesses—transforming mobility corridors into vibrant community networks of exchange and everyday life.

CULTURAL & COMMUNITY RESILIENCY HUBS

Positioned along the Rail to Rail corridor, these resiliency hubs provide essential social infrastructure—hydration stations, shade, rest areas, and seating—while doubling as cultural and entertainment zones. Designed to serve residents and visitors alike, they become fan zones and gathering spaces that foster comfort, connection, and community pride along the route.

GRAND AVENUE CULTURAL DISTRICT

The activation of the new Cultural District along Grand Avenue connects Angelenos to the city’s premier arts and culture institutions—Disney Concert Hall, The Broad, MOCA, and the Music Center. Through streetscape design, programming, and public space activation, the corridor becomes a vibrant cultural spine that celebrates creativity and civic life in the heart of Los Angeles.

The Festival Trail links together and enhances projects already in the works.

The Festival Trail utilizes public transportation networks of Los Angeles to form a robust interconnected non-vehicular network that connects multiple Olympic venues and public attractions around the city. The network becomes a gateway to Los Angeles, telling the story of each community along the trail.

MULTI-MODAL FESTIVAL NETWORK

The Festival Trail features four modes of movement to walk, bike and roll through the city.
